About Faith Assembly

We are an independent, Bible preaching church within the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies.  Our Mission Statement is in keeping with the agricultural heritage of this area and analogous with Jesus parables; that is to plant, cultivate, harvest, and nurture souls to full Christian maturity. We desire to become the church and school in the Sauk Valley that is known for loving God and living out that love with everyone we meet.

Our church governance is led by our lead pastor, elder board of four and a deacon board of up to eight. Our congregation consists of all age groups, and lots of families with children. Our services include Biblical preaching and contemporary worship.

We highly value our children and seek to grow them up in Christ through our First Look preschool ministry (preschool-1st grade), 252 kids ministry (grades 2-6) and our nurturing Playroom ministry (ages 1-4) on Sundays. We also provide a Mother’s Room for babies. Our Foundations Youth Ministry is tailored specifically for teens 7th-12th grade.

We are located approximately 100 miles west of Chicago in the Rock River valley of Northern Illinois. Just outside of Dixon, the village of Grand Detour was named such because of the Rock River charting its course through this area. We are ideally located between the larger cities of Rockford, DeKalb, and the Quad Cities. Within a radius of 15 miles there is a population of 80,000 + people, including the cities of Dixon, Sterling, Rock Falls, and Oregon.

About Faith Christian School

The full church board acts also in the capacity of the Faith Christian School board, with support from our lead pastor-superintendent, principal, school advisory group of parents, school staff and community leaders.

Established in 1980, Faith Christian School is a ministry of Faith Assembly. Functioning with 3 distinct campuses, the school supports prekindergarten through the 12th grade and a full time staff, including a principal.  The school has operated with a strict budget and has recently purchased and renovated the Grand Detour elementary school as our own. Capital fundraising programs for improvements and upkeep are ongoing.

In addition to Christ-centered academic excellence, the school hosts numerous sports teams as part of the Northern Illinois Christian Conference. The church and the school draw from several towns in the 20 mile radius, and both ministries are positioned well for fulfilling growing spiritual needs in the community. By preaching the infallible truths of Scripture and helping parents to educate and develop children in a Christ-centered worldview, we are impacting the next generation for Christ.
